This image shows packaging with a high degree of sortability. There is a difference between packaging with a full wrap and packaging with partial wrap or partially labelled packaging. Large labels frequently prevent the correct transfer of packaging to their respective recovery path. For further details, please refer to the document below.
A so called ‘3K cup’ consists of a PP, PS or PE cup, a paper wrap , a seal aluminium foil and a plastic lid. Theoretically, every single one of these components is recyclable. However, consumers for the most part don’t discard the components individually, which is why these cups are recognised as paper by the sorting facilities and, as a result, have a low level of recyclability.
