Short film on enhanced checks on online retailers
Online retailers must register their shipment, retail and grouped packaging with the LUCID Packaging Register, and pay for the recovery and recycling of that packaging. Operators of electronic marketplaces have been required since 1 July 2022 to check whether the retailers active on their platforms are complying with these obligations under packaging law. A similar obligation applies to fulfilment service providers; they, too, must ensure that their business partners act in compliance with the law.
