New system participation requirement catalogue: consultation launched for the VerpackDG catalogue

Is your packaging subject to system participation – or is it not? The new system participation requirement catalogue (VerpackDG catalogue) helps you find out.

The catalogue is an administrative regulation that enables users to quickly and unbureaucratically determine if their packaging is subject to system participation under the new legal framework, i.e. the Verpackungsrecht-Durchführungsgesetz (Packaging Law Implementation Act or VerpackDG). Statutory producer responsibility can only be achieved when everybody complies with their obligations under packaging law.

The consultation was launched on 15 June 2026. Stakeholders have until 10 July 2026 to submit their comments to the ZSVR. Comments will be evaluated together with the competent authorities, following which the VerpackDG catalogue will be finalised and published.
