European National Registers (EUNR): For a harmonized application of the PPWR in Europe
With the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), a single legal framework for companies with packaging obligations is currently being developed within Europe. The network European National Registers (EUNR) promotes a common understanding of central definitions and their consistent application in the European inner market.
Who is represented in the EUNR network?
What does the EUNR do?

The main focus of the EUNR is the technical and professional exchange in order to implement the PPWR. Together, the members develop coordinated approaches for the uniform interpretation of extended producer responsibility in order to strengthen cross-border trade in the internal market. The EURN network contributes to increasing transparency, strengthening enforcement and market monitoring and creating a level playing field for all companies under obligation in Europe. In line with this, it is helping to reduce free-rider behaviour in the internal market. This will lay the groundwork for an efficient recycling infrastructure while supporting the achievement of the goals of the PPWR by 2030 and 2035.
Through its involvement in the EURN, the ZSVR is committed to ensuring a level-playing field under unified European rules.
