Explanation

Retail packaging and grouped packaging for liquid fire starters in quantities of 15 litres or less are subject to system participation because they typically accumulate as waste with private final consumers – i.e. private households and comparable sources of waste generation (within the meaning of section 3 (11) VerpackG) such as food and beverage businesses or cultural and recreational facilities.

Retail packaging and grouped packaging for liquid fire starters in quantities exceeding 15 litres are not subject to system participation because they typically accumulate as waste in industrial or large commercial enterprise settings.

Shipment packaging for liquid fire starters of all kinds typically accumulates as waste with private final consumers – i.e. private households and comparable sources of waste generation and, as such, is subject to system participation.

Specials

Retail packaging for hazardous contents within the meaning of section 3 (7) in conjunction with appendix 2 VerpackG is exempt from system participation under section 12 (2) no. 3 VerpackG.
