Explanation

Retail packaging and grouped packaging for soaps, shower gels and bubble baths in quantities of 12 litres or less are subject to system participation because they typically accumulate as waste with private final consumers – i.e. private households and comparable sources of waste generation (within the meaning of section 3 (11) VerpackG) such as accommodation establishments and healthcare facilities.

Retail packaging and grouped packaging for soaps, shower gels and bubble baths in quantities exceeding 12 litres are not subject to system participation because they typically accumulate as waste in industrial or large commercial enterprise settings. In industrial settings, big bags, casks or IBCs are typically used.

Shipment packaging for soaps, shower gels and bubble baths of all kinds typically accumulates as waste with private final consumers – i.e. private households and comparable sources of waste generation and is subject to system participation.

The quantity of soaps, shower gels and bubble baths can be given in litres or kilogrammes. Specifications in litres equal kilogrammes, and vice versa.
