Retail packaging for drills with a rated power output of 750 W or less, or with no listed power rating, is subject to system participation because it typically accumulates as waste with private final consumers – i.e. private households and comparable sources of waste generation (within the meaning of section 3 (11) VerpackG). Comparable sources of waste generation include in particular building trade businesses whose packaging waste can be collected at the rate that is normally associated with private households in waste bins that do not exceed 1,100 litres ('volume criterion').
Although retail packaging and grouped packaging for drills with a rated power output of 750 W or less, or with no listed power rating, also accumulate as waste in industry or large commercial enterprise settings to some extent, this packaging is subject to system participation because, due to the products’ rated power output, it matches the packaging accumulating as waste with private final consumers – i.e. private households and comparable sources of waste generation. Overall, the lion’s share accumulates as waste with private final consumers – i.e. private households and comparable sources of waste generation.
Retail packaging and grouped packaging for drills with a rated power output exceeding 750 W typically accumulate as waste in industrial or large commercial enterprise settings and are not subject to system participation. Shipment packaging for drills of all kinds typically accumulates as waste with private final consumers – i.e. private households and comparable sources of waste generation and, as such, is subject to system participation.
