The system participation requirement catalogue first published by the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (ZSVR) at the end of 2018 is used widely. It is an administrative regulation that enables users to quickly and unbureaucratically determine whether the system participation requirement applies to their packaging. Statutory producer responsibility can only be achieved when everybody complies with their obligations under packaging law. The system participation requirement catalogue is being revised again and specified in more detail. The further developed 2022 issue will be published, following the consultation, in summer 2022.
The 2022 consultation was launched on 21 April 2022, and stakeholders have until 19 May 2022 to submit their comments on the new catalogue to the ZSVR. The revised 2022 catalogue edition will then be finalised, taking into consideration the comments received and assessed in collaboration with the competent authorities; the updated version will be published in July 2022.
